The Latina/Latino Studies Program and the Department of History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invite applications for a full-time tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Latina/Latino Studies and History to begin August 16, 2008.  Preference will be given to candidates with an exemplary record of research in 19th and 20th century Mexican American and/or Chicana/o history.  This will be a joint appointment 50/50 between Latina/Latino Studies and the Department of History.

Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, and to participate in curriculum development in LLSP and History.  A Ph.D. by the time of appointment is required.  Salary is competitive.  Full consideration will be given to applications received by November 1, 2007.  Please send cover letter, email address, curriculum vita, transcripts, a writing sample, and three letters of reference to the address below.
