Mellon Awards
The Mellon Faculty Fellows Program supported ten faculty fellows annually for four years across several disciplines in the humanities, with special emphasis on interpretive method.
Those selected as Faculty Fellows were released from teaching responsibilities half-time for a year or full-time for a semester in order to pursue research and writing projects that touched on Eastern Europe and Russia; Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean; ethnic identity, American cultural traditions, and Jewish studies Humanistic scholarship on cultural values and collective life in a world of high mobility, deepening interconnections, and rapid technological and social change.
